First Grade STEAM Lesson Students in Mrs. Viggiani’s 1st Grade enjoyed a STEAM lesson from, Ms. DiGirolamo, the science teacher. Their task was to engineer a standing tour representing an apple tree. Here is what the students came up with!
It Starts With Hello On September 23rd, Huber St will be participating in “ It Starts With Hello.” Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear green. “It Start With Hello”is a program created by the Sandy Hook Promise. It is designed to help students feel less lonely and to promote a more inclusive environment.

Mrs. Ulrich’s Kindergarten The students in Mrs. Ulrich’s Kindergarten class are off to a great start! Students participated in multi- sensory centers during color week. These activities let students use sight, touch and sound to connect letters and their sounds.
Back to School Night ~Huber Street School will be hosting two separate Back-to-School Nights. 1) Kindergarten & Pre- Kindergarten: Tuesday, September 3rd at 4:30 P.M.2) 1st Grade through 5th Grade: Wednesday, September 11th at 6:00 P.M.~Back-to-School Nights will take place at Huber Street School. In addition, please be aware that Back-to-School Night is a parents-only event.
Secaucus School District to partner with Columbia University’s Teacher College Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, the Secaucus School District will partner with Teachers College, Columbia University, to offer our K-2 students the Teachers College Writing Program. Both Huber Street and Clarendon Schools were accepted as “partner schools” with the program, receiving priority professional development opportunities for our teachers throughout the school year. Administrators from our district will participate in the highly renowned week-long summer institutes to become familiar with the program and learn how to assess teacher implementation. All K-2 teachers in the district will be utilizing the Units of Study in writing as part of a comprehensive writing curriculum updated this summer by specialists in the district.
