Mr. Valente, kidnapped? Today at Huber Street our principal was kidnapped. Mrs. Curry’s secret agents had to observe evidence from the crime scene and analyze suspect interviews in order to draw conclusions to figure out the true criminal of such a horrendous crime. It turned out to be second grade teacher, Ms. Zaller!
Happy Diwali! Kavya Singh, in Mrs. Celebrano’s 3rd Grade class shared information about Diwali, Indian New Year, which her family celebrates, with her class. It began on Tuesday, November 2nd and lasts for 5 days. She brought in a book for me to read to the class which I read to them and also showed them some videos on Diwali. She also brought in the supplies for the class to make their own lanterns. I Kavya become the teacher and she instructed the class and modeled how to make the lanterns. The class had a great time making their own lanterns which they decorated with colorful ribbons and gems. To all celebrating, Happy Diwali!

Meet Oakley Secaucus Police Chief Miller, school psychologist, Mrs. Pianko, SPD Officer Ensmann, and Mayor Mike joined Mr. Valente in welcoming Huber Street School’s newest faculty member, Oakley. A Golden Retriever, Oakley is a certified therapy dog. Secaucus schools are among the first in New Jersey to partner with the police department to bring therapy dogs into our schools to assist with the social emotional health of our students. Oakley will be joined by Chipper in spending time with our students.

Walk to School With A Cop The students of Huber Street School started the morning off right with a walk to school with a cop. The Huber Bears took a nice leisurely stroll to school with The Secaucus Police Department on Friday, October 22nd, 2021. The walk began at Trolley Park and ended in front of Huber St. School. Students were met by countless uniform police officers, Chief Miller, Major Gonelli, and Town Council Members. Thank you for supporting Huber Street School, The Secaucus Police Department, and The Town of Secaucus.
SGO Newsletter On Friday October 22nd, 2021 the SGO will sponsor “Wear Pink” in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt with uniform bottoms. Students are asked to make a one dollar donation. If a student donates two dollars he or she will receive a pink bracelet (while supplies last or money will be returned) to acknowledge their contribution to fight against Breast Cancer. All donations will be given to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
Huber Art Gallery Ms. Phemsint Kindergarten Art class has been introduced to Kandinsky’s Art through the use of the Art element shape. The students used overlapping, movement, and color accompanied by the Art medium watercolor pencils and crayons. #SecaucusPride
